Sir Knight

In days of old when knights were bold and dragons roamed the land
The princess eeked when she had peeked to see dragon by her stand.
The knight on steed rode in with speed to save the beauty fair
He’d use his sword and his reward they became a happy pair.
Now today we have no dragons for our mighty knights to slay
But I’ve heard it said some grab a pig to make his lady’s day.
Though he wears no steely armor and he does not use a sword
Our knight protects his lady and her love his just reward.
He’s there to help a stranger, friends and family he keeps near
Our knight defends his country and the freedoms he holds dear.
So grab your tankard everyone and raise it high in cheer
